The Office for Children as a state agency is required by Exec Order 227 (1983) to appoint an affirmative action officer and to establish an affirmative action program to ensure equal opportunity in all areas of employment. Program is subject to review and oversight of the Executive Office of Human Services affirmative action officer and the State Office of Affirmative Action (SOAA). Series is created by the office's affirmative action unit to submit to SOAA quarterly and annual reports of statistical data on hiring and other employment actions, to be used in SOAA's own annual report.
